Download the server software from Minecraft.net. When you are at the main page of Minecraft.net, underneath the big "Buy Now" logo, there should be a link that says "Download". Click on that link. When you have done that, look for the link that says "Minecraft_Server.exe". Click on that link and it should download the server software for you.

Make a folder on your desktop named "Minecraft_Server" and move the download into there. When you run the server for the first time, a lot of files are going to be created.

Run the server software for the first time. You may see lots of "FAILED" messages on the server interface. It's ok, as the server has only been run for the first time and is missing a lot of files. When the spawn area load is at 100%, in the little chat box down the bottom, type "stop", without the quotation marks. The server should shut down after saving all of the chunks.

Open the Minecraft_Server folder again and the server_properties file is the one you want to look for. Once you have found it, double-click on it.

Click "select from a list of installed programs." It will then show you a list of programs; select Notepad, or another text editor if you will.

Look through the list in the properties file to find where it says "online mode=true". Now you want to change the "true" part to "false". This will ensure that your usernames are not chosen from minecraft.net.

Port forward. The port you guys need to use is 25565. The IP you will need to use is your IPV4 address. You can find it by opening up your Command Prompt and typing "ipconfig" then pressing enter.

Open the server_properties file again in notepad. Look for this. "server i.p=". After the = sign, put your IPV4 address (the one you used when port-forwarding).

Use your server! You will need to open the server software in order to get on to your server. Open it up, then go onto Minecraft. Click Multiplayer, then "Add Server". Call it what you want, but in the server address bar, put the IP you used when port-forwarding. Click on "Ok" or whatever the confirm button is and there you go! You should be able to get on to your cracked server.
